Our Team

Randy Reed

Randy Reed is the President of Reed & Company, CPA's. He began his career in Accounting in 1990 at the International Accounting Firm of Ernst & Young after receiving his Bachelor's of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting (May 1989) and his Masters of Science in Taxation (December 1989) from the University of Miami. In December of 1991, he joined Reed & Company, CPA's, the firm his father founded in the late 1970’s. Randy is the former president of the Atlantic Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and is currently a member of both the FICPA and the AICPA. He has also served as an accounting professor at Palm Beach Community College. He enjoys working with business owners in strategic planning, tax reduction, financial planning, succession planning, and maximizing profits.

In his personal time, Randy enjoys coaching basketball at Boca Raton Christian School and dedicating time to his family and foster parenting.

Fanny Henao

Fanny Henao is a certified public accountant with Reed & Company, CPA's. She has been in public accounting since 1998, after earning her Bachelors’ degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. She joined Reed and Company and received a Masters in Accounting with a major in Accounting Information Systems in 2000. Fanny is a member of the FICPA. She has also had the great opportunity to be part of the staff of her Alma matter, Florida Atlantic University, as an adjunct professor in the business department. She enjoys working with businesses owners and individuals in the areas of software implementation, QuickBooks consulting, strategic planning, tax reduction planning, financial planning, and business profitability analysis. She enjoys using technology to benefit her clients.

In her personal time, Fanny enjoys running, playing tennis and the beach. She plays competitive tennis with the South Palm Beach County Women’s Tennis Association league and other organizations. She lives with her husband and two children who keep her busy with sports and school activities.

Michelle Reis

Michelle Reis came to the US while studying Marketing within an extracurricular summer activity and she fell in love with accounting in her first class. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Florida to pursue her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Florida Atlantic University, graduating in 2007.

Michelle joined Reed and Company as an intern that same year. She left the firm for three years and gained experience as an inhouse financial and cost accountant for an international company, while continuing to work on projects with Reed and Company.

Since returning to Reed and Company in Aug 2014, Michelle obtained her license as a certified public accountant and uses her great organizational skills and proficiency with QuickBooks and tax planning to assist our clients.

Fluent in Portuguese, Michelle enjoys getting to know new cultures. She is an active world traveler, animal lover, and a passionate Pilates practitioner.

Ira Herschbein

Ira M. Herschbein has a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and an MBA from Nova University. He has been a CPA since 1983, and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) since 1988. He has been active with the Florida Institute of CPAs since 1983, becoming President of the local Chapter for the year 1999-2000, was on the Board of Directors of the FICPA for 5 years. He served as President of the FICPA Educational Foundation for the year 2006-2007. He has been a trustee of the Foundation since 2001 to present. He was President of the Greater Boca Raton Estate Planning council for the year 2001-2002.

At Reed and Company, he reviews income, estate, and gift tax returns, as well as not-for-profit organizations.

Ira uses his spare time within the community through his active participation in the Rotary Club of Boca Raton Sunrise, serving as President of the Club in the year 2014-2015.

Mary Buchanan

Mary E. Buchanan graduated Summa cum Laude from FAU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She has held an active Florida CPA license since 2012. She previously worked at Ira Herschbein's CPA firm for 6 years before they both joined Reed & Company. Fluent in German, Mary served in the US Army as a Linguist prior to staying home for several years to raise her two children.

At Reed and Company, she prepares and reviews corporate, personal, trust, estate & gift tax returns and undertakes research on a variety of accounting issues and specialty projects, while keeping current on the near-constant tax law changes.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending as much time as possible with her husband, as well as her children, who are now grown and her dog. She also loves spending time on the beach, traveling, and reading.

Jay Schuppener

Jay Schuppener is a certified public accountant with Reed and Company. He has a Masters of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University, and has been a CPA since 1987. Jay has a background in corporate America as well as CPA offices. He worked for Alamo Rent-a-Car as a director of Fleet Accounting for over 10 years and as a consultant in system development and testing for two years. He later worked in multiple CPA firms, helping to manage two. The last 10 years he has worked as a controller for Mile Fleet and for the last 5 at Reed and Company, helping with new client opportunities.

At Reed and Company, Jay spends most of his time working with clients in the areas of strategic planning.

In his free time, Jay is an avid jogger, as well as a big Florida Gators fan.

Christine Barber

Christine Barber has a bachelor's degree of accounting and a Master’s of Taxation, both from Florida Atlantic University. She has 16 years of experience in public accounting, with 8 of those years being at BPB. Christine also has experience in real estate, hospitality, and with small businesses, as well as with high net worth individuals.

In her personal time, Christine enjoys time with her family, including involvement with her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop.
